Damian Lillard to the Warriors? A Fun, But Not Feasible Fit

The Golden State Warriors have to get a pulse on every available player on their radar, big or small. So when chatter grew of Damian Lillard’s possible displeasure with the Portland Trail Blazers, it’d be foolish if all 29 other NBA teams didn’t at least look into acquiring the star point guard. For some franchises there’s groundwork for a deal, and for others it’s a longshot. For Golden State, they fall into the latter scenario.

And yet they wouldn’t be doing themselves justice if they didn’t at least ponder the possibility of acquiring Damian Lillard, which was recently reported. Per The Athletic’s Anthony Slater:

Former Brooklyn Nets HC Kenny Atkinson Joins Warriors Coaching Staff

Steve Kerr and the Warriors front office made a big splash yesterday, acquiring Kenny Atkinson as the team’s new lead assistant coach.

Atkinson spent last year as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Clippers, and he spent 2016-2020 as the head coach for the Brooklyn Nets, before being replaced by Steve Nash in the 2020-2021 season.

Adding Atkinson to the bench seems to be a great hire for the Dubs, as Atkinson is a proven coach and is widely revered for his ability to develop young talent, which the Warriors organization could certainly use right now as they look to properly develop James Wiseman and currently own the 7th and 14th picks in the NBA draft.

Three Currys Look to Hit From Distance on the Links

They say “when it rains, it pours.” Well, this weekend by Lake Tahoe it can be said “when it Curry’s, it flurries.”

Stephen Curry, his younger brother and 76ers guard Seth and their father and NBA veteran Dell will all hit the links this weekend for the American Century Championship at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, playing from Wednesday through Sunday. Wednesday and Thursday’s play will consist of practice rounds, before scoring begins on Friday and continues through the weekend.

Back-to-Back Champs Will Reunite in Quest for Gold

Winning three titles with the Bulls and a pair of championships with the Spurs, Steve Kerr ended his playing days with five rings. Draymond Green and Kevin Durant have combined for five rings as well, earning the jewelry with the Warriors.

And starting in July, the Warriors coach and forward will be reunited with the two-time NBA Finals MVP, but for them, the five rings in play won’t be diamond-studded – they’ll be the five Olympic rings.

Exploring a possible Warriors-Bulls trade which would bring Zach LaVine to Golden State

The Warriors are entering the off-season with a number of flexible assets, including their two lottery picks in this year’s draft, James Wiseman, Kelly Oubre Jr. in a possible sign-and-trade, and their future first round picks. They could obviously hold onto those assets and hope that what they currently have is enough. However, rumors have been swirling about possible trade targets if the Warriors decide to take some of those assets and try to add another star. Enter Zach LaVine.
