Kyrie gifts Jersey to Kuminga

After the Warriors win against the Brooklyn Nets Saturday, star point guard Kyrie Irving gave rookie Johnathan Kuminga his game-worn jersey. Kuminga, in his first year at the NBA level by way of the NBA G-League’s Ignite team, played his high school hoops at St. Patrick School located in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Similarly, Irving also played his high school hoops St. Patrick High School before his infamous one-and-done season at Duke University.

The 7th pick of the 2021 NBA Draft and a future star of the Golden State Warriors, Jonathan Kuminga, will not be competing in any of the NBA All-Star Saturday night events. He will not be playing in the Rising Stars Challenge or even the NBA Slam Dunk Competition for that matter. Juan Toscano-Anderson will be competing in the dunk contest even though one can argue that Kuminga is a stronger, more flashy dunker than he is.
