Curry leaves no doubt on who the MVP favorite should be

What a game.

Tuesday night, the Warriors traveled to Brooklyn to take on the Nets and former Warriors legend Kevin Durant.

The anticipation for this marquee matchup was palpable. Two former teammates, both of which were NBA champions together, and are the two highest scorers in the NBA. Durant, averaging 29.6 per game, and Curry averaging 28.1. This matchup between two of the league's greatest scores was guaranteed to deliver.

Warriors went triangle-and-two on Nets with success

Oh, how the tables have turned. The Warriors experimented with both a box-and-one defense as well as a triangle-and-two defensive scheme to slow down Kevin Durant and James Harden. And it worked.

The Warriors had a marquee matchup versus the Nets on Nov. 16 where Stephen Curry would go up against his former teammate Durant. With the Nets having as much firepower as anyone else in the league, the Warriors knew they had to somehow switch it up on defense to slow down Durant.

Steph Curry Gets No Respect From Refs - and It's a Problem

The Golden State Warriors made a statement tonight, putting up an 18 point win against the Brooklyn Nets. Steph Curry went off for 37 points on 12/19 shooting and 9/14 from downtown. He made all 4 free throws he shot as well, in spite of getting to the line only a few times. He did, however, hear his name called in a lot of whistles that they probably shouldn’t have been, and it’s an indication of a trend that’s been happening for years now; a trend that needs to get fixed.

Steph Curry's Impact Is Still Underrated

On a night where Warriors Twitter was decrying Steph’s performance, a 7/22 from the field outing where he turned the ball over three times, Curry was still the game - not just his team’s - leader in plus-minus at +14. Higher than anyone on the winning Hornets, and higher than any of his teammates. He tacked on 10 assists and 3 steals to 24 points on pretty inefficient shooting. He did not make the right plays down the stretch, but he was still an impactful player on the game despite a myriad of errors.

Steve Kerr Defends Late Rotation Choices in Loss

The Warriors dropped what most would call a winnable game in Charlotte tonight. The team had some trouble getting anything going, shooting 23% from three while the Hornets continued to torch the nets down the stretch. There are a lot of things this loss was attributable to: Shooting woes, several turnovers at bad times, missed free throws at the end of a game, and passive decision-making by the Warriors’ best player.

Can the Warriors Stay Hot After Favorable Travel Schedule?

The Golden State Warriors are 11-1. There are a multitude of reasons why this is, with the primary one being that they’re just really good at basketball. Steph Curry has the highest total plus-minus in the league, as well as the best plus-minus per game… ever. The weapons are clicking together into their system, the defensive effort and energy has been insane, and Klay Thompson has yet to come back. This team, in short, is pretty scary as an opponent.
