Collin Sexton finally admits to getting cooked by Stephen Curry

Nearly every game that two-time MVP Stephen Curry plays in there is a player wearing a different colored jersey who gets absolutely fried by the Golden State superstar. So, none of Curry’s victims should feel any shame for their helplessness out on the hardwood when going up against number 30.

Recently, up and coming star and Cleveland Cavaliers guard, Collin Sexton, was on the “Beyond the Press” podcast hosted by former NBA player and teammate, Jaron Blossomgame. Sexton brought up a game he had during his rookie season where he and his Cavs were up against a red-hot Warriors team in which Sexton was getting lit up by Curry(no huge surprise here).

“I remember a few games. I think I was playing Warriors or something. It was just like a bad game, it was like you get cooked out there… There ain’t nothing you can do.”

The funny thing is, following the game that Sexton was talking about, during his postgame media availability he was downplaying the Baby-Faced Assassin’s greatness.

“He’s just another player who is really good and a good guard in the league,” the then rookie told the Athletic’s Joe Vardon.

Mind you, Curry scored 42 points that night while nailing nine three-pointers.

A few years have passed since that game and Sexton may have had some time to grow up and mature a bit in the league. It’s clear after the third-year guard's recent comments about Curry that he knows what’s up.

Judging by this clip of Sexton trash-talking Curry during the game in question, as Curry counts up his four-point play on his hand, it’s clear Sexton was a desperate rookie just trying to survive while still putting on a too-cool-for-school front.

We’ll chalk it up to the “Young Bull” going through his growing pains. He certainly seems to have a bright future ahead of him. Looking forward to his next match-up against Curry and the Warriors.
