Warriors invite free agent Quinn Cook to multi-day workout

The Warriors’ elusive search to fill their vacant 15th roster spot is still ongoing. The latest name who has received interest from Golden State? Former Warrior and two-time NBA champion, Quinn Cook.

Cook is set to head to the Warriors’ facility this week for a multi-day workout with the team, a source told me on Saturday.

The Warriors have been very vocal about wanting to fill their last available roster spot with a ball-handling guard that can provide relief at the point-guard position should Stephen Curry or Jordan Poole need to miss any time on the floor.

They have already brought in Darren Collison and Ryan Arcidiacono, among other names, for workouts at their San Francisco facility.

Cook was part of the 2018 championship Warriors roster that swept the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Finals. He started in 18 games for Golden State that season and averaged 9.5 points, 2.7 assists, and 2.5 rebounds a game during that year. He is also a career 40.8 percent three-point shooter.

The fit certainly is there between the two parties. Cook could provide ball-handling skills the Warriors need to go along with his knockdown three-point ability and has had plenty of playoff and championship experience. At 28 years old, it would seem like the young yet experienced point guard should have a very good shot at getting signed by his former squad.
